NATURE OF POSITION
Lead the Intellectual Property and Regulatory Affairs processes to meet the strategic needs for current profit and long-term competitiveness.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
Manage the Company Intellectual Property Portfolio by understanding the technical direction of key markets, raw materials, and competitors versus Company capabilities
Coordinate Company patent preparation, invention disclosure and prosecution working with our outside Counsel(s)
Provide and/or arrange training and guidance for the R&D and Company technical community to enhance identification of innovative patentable and/or trade secret discoveries
Provide risk mitigation through patent analysis and freedom to practice studies coordinated through our outside Counsel(s)
Coordinate foreign Counsel during proceedings in foreign jurisdictions
Participate actively the Company IP committee
Work with outside Counsel(s) to enforce and defend Company Intellectual Property Rights
Manage the Regulatory Affairs (RA) addressing legislations, customer and market needs

ACCOUNTABILITIES
Coordinate activities and protect Company intellectual property in a way that allows freedom to practice and does not infringe on others
Manage Regulatory Affairs to provide superior customer service and accurate information to customer requests

CORE CAPABILITIES
Education/Experience – BS in one of the Sciences, preferably Chemistry, with 5 years of industry related experience.
Experience – Intellectual Property experience in the Nonwoven, Paper, Chemical, Fiber or Textile industries with specific experience in the application of polymer science to engineering fabric, film, plastic products.

PRIMARY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports directly to the Global Director of Innovation
Interfaces with Product and Process Development, Process Engineering, Sales and Manufacturing at all Company sites.
Interfaces with Customers, Raw Material suppliers, and Equipment Manufacturers.
